Google Flow Sessions

Nothin’ Beats a Cheeseburger is our latest project created in collaboration with Google Labs, as part of Flow Sessions. The project goal was to push Google’s AI tools into new territory, to embrace generative AI without losing a solidly human connection with the audience.

We settled pretty quickly on the idea of capturing real actors and using Google’s generative AI models to build a world around that real human performance, and do something implausible just a few years ago.

AN ALIEN WALKS INTO A DINER

The humor between a human and AI character coming face to face in a funny, awkward way was a fun place to play, given where we are with the technology.

In just a few days using Google Flow, the tool blew our mind, and has clearly proven to be the right foundation for this film. Google Flow allowed us to push the boundaries of what is possible in traditional filmmaking process.

A HYBRID PRODUCTION APPROACH

For the production approach, we wanted to test techniques that we could implement into our commercial and film production workflows. The results were impressive.

We were able to cut massive complexity out of what would have been a very VFX-heavy production and post-production process.

We shot and delivered the 3:30 min film in less than 3 weeks, which is pretty close to impossible if you think of traditional CG and VFX pipelines.
